Frequently Asked Questions

We offer a wide range of travel options to our travellers based on their preferences.

  • Air transport - We book a flight to Leh’s Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, which is connected to cities such as Delhi, Jammu, Srinagar, and Chandigarh.
  • Land transport - For travelers who enjoy adventure, we also organize private road trips that offer two breathtaking scenic views.
    • Manali to Leh - this route goes via Keylong and covers around 474 kilometers with the planned stopping point for relaxation and scenic beauty.
    • Srinagar to Leh - this is another route covering Sonamarg, Drass, Kargil, Mulbekh, and Lamayuru. A 434-kilometer journey.

Junky travel ensures that all road trips schedule between May and October, when the roads are open and safe to travel.

We highly recommend road trips for those who seek adventure. We organized well-planned road trips where our driver is experienced and the vehicle is well maintained, so that travellers need not to worry about the safety and can only enjoy the incredible views en route.

For the rugged terrain, we arrange comfortable vehicles like the Tata Safari, Toyota Innova, Mahindra Scorpio, and XUV500. For those who wish to explore Ladakh on two wheels, we also facilitate premium motorbike rentals.

Owing to the altitude of Ladakh, which is approximately 11,500 feet, oxygen deficiency is a concern. But we plan our itinerary accordingly, with assimilation included in that, so that travellers adjust to such conditions. Even at such a lower level of oxygen, we arrange oxygen cylinders and a first-day kit for the safety of your travellers.

The symptoms of high altitude sickness are appetite loss, dizziness, breathlessness, and difficulty in sleeping. But due to the nature of Ladakh like this we already include 24 hours of rest upon arrival, so that our travelers get the time to adapt to such a high-altitude environment. Even our experienced team monitors your well-being on a daily basis, and if such a situation arises, then we also change the itinerary to prioritize your health.

Typically, our duration stays between 6-7 days. But depending on travelers' interest, we customise extended itineraries to include more remote areas, sightseeing, and cultural exploration.

For the perfect Ladakh trip, we recommend you pack the following things based on the season and activities:

  • Light, breathable clothes for daytime
  • Warm layers like jackets and pullovers for the evenings
  • Woolens for high-altitude treks
  • Windcheaters and raincoats if traveling during June–July
  • Waterproof trekking shoes for outdoor activities

We also provide a detailed packing list as per your itinerary.

Although we recommend carrying enough cash on your trip, especially for remote areas. But if you want to withdraw some cash during the trip, it is also feasible. There are many ATMs like Axis Bank, Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Punjab National Bank, and State Bank of India from where you can withdraw cash without any worry.

Some hotels and restaurants accept credit cards, but a service fee may apply. For local markets, monasteries, and remote areas, we recommend carrying cash.
