About the Tour:

Winter, which embraces Spiti Valley in the first week of November, and stays on until the fourth week of March, is a cold, harsh and tough time in the valley. While it may not be the easiest time to travel through Spiti Valley, it certainly is the most rewarding time to come visit.

Day 1 / Depart for Shimla Shimla, Himachal
    Evening
    • Depart for Shimla in an AC vehicle by late evening from Delhi.
    • A dream destination for any adventure enthusiast, Spiti is the gateway into the higher northern reaches of the country. We recommend travelling to Spiti from the Shimla-Kinnaur side for a variety of reasons, and good ones at that!
    • Overnight journey to Shimla.
Day 2 / Shimla - Kalpa Kalpa, Himachal
    Full Day
    • We begin this Spiti Valley Winter Expedition by hitting the road from Shimla. We pass through popular towns of Sarahan and Rampur-Bushahr before entering the spectacular Kinnaur Valley. Before entering Kalpa at 9711 feet, we catch a glimpse of the famous Kinner Kailash Peak – said to be the summer abode of Lord Shiva.
    • At Kalpa, you will warm up with a piping cup of tea before checking into your warm hotel room.
    • Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Kalpa.
Day 3 / Kalpa – Nako – Tabo - Kaza Tabo, Himachal

    • We start the day with breakfast, check out and head to a visit to the 1026-year-old Tabo Monastery, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk around this sacred site and gain a deeper understanding of Buddhism, on the way to Tabo we have a steaming hot lunch at Nako.
    • From Tabo, we drive to the spectacular Kaza.
    • Here, we spend the night at a comfortable and authentic homestay in Kaza.
    • Dinner & overnight stay at a homestay in Kaza.
Day 4 / Kaza – Key Monastary – Kibber – Kaza Kaza, Himachal
    Full Day
    • We begin the day, with a drive to renowned Ki Monastery. The car will first stop at the base of the monastery hill for the ultimate photo opportunity of this remarkable structure amid white snow.
    • Then we will move farther up the valley to the picturesque village of Kibber. From Kibber you can trek to Chicham Bridge, located across a sharp and precipitous canyon traversable only by a suspended wire cable basket system known as a Jula.
    • We drive back to Kaza for the night.
    • Dinner and overnight stay at a homestay in Kaza.
Day 5 / Kaza – Komic – Hikkim – Langza – Kaza Kaza, Himachal
    Full Day
    • We drive to some of the highest inhabited regions of the world.
    • The highest village in Asia, Komic, which translates to ‘eye of a snow cock’. Some of the common animals of the region are the Tibetan wolf, blue sheep, red fox, hare, snow cock, Himalayan griffin, rock pigeon etc.
    • Later, we drive to Hikkim where we visit the world’s highest post office.
    • After sending out a postcard, we drove to Langza village, to visit the famous statue of Buddha, which is around 1000 years old.
    • Dinner and overnight stay at a homestay in Kaza.
Day 6 / Kaza – Kalpa Kalpa, Himachal
    Full Day
    • The day marks the beginning of the end of this expedition. We make our way towards Kinnaur Valley. Along this journey, you can get to capture some scenic visions that you might have missed out on your camera. After a scenic and memorable drive, we will end the journey at Kalpa.
    • Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Kalpa.
Day 7 / Kalpa - Chitkul Chitkul, Himachal
    Full Day
    • Wake up early morning and after breakfast depart for Chitkul.
    • Famously known as the last inhabited village on the Indo-Tibet Border, Chitkul is also the most beautiful village of the striking Baspa Valley in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. If escapism is your choice of travel drug, let us assure you, that a trip to Chitkul will not disappoint you.
    • Reach Chitkul by evening.
    • Check in to homestay.
    • Evening at leisure.
    • Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8 / Checkout Shimla, Himachal
    Full Day
    • After Breakfast enjoy some leisure time.
    • Later checkout and depart for Shimla.
    • Later by evening depart for Delhi.
    • Overnight journey to Delhi.
